In a world full of hate towards women who decide to choose themselves and to not be conventional, it’s a great time to adopt a cat instead. Recently, JD Vance in which the current Republican vice-presidential candidate released a very bold statement insinuating that “miserable cat ladies” are focused on self love and improvement while “ normal Americans” are focused on building families. Although he thought he ate that up, he really just triggered all cat ladies to come out of the shadows and embrace their lifestyles more boldly and proudly. Theres absolutely no guilt in choosing to love on a cut cuddly cat instead of stepping into motherhood when you’re just not ready for it. Although his statement was extremely offensive to the progressive feminist movement that has been rapidly growing around the US, it inspired me to write my fellow cat ladies a love filled letter from a proud cat mom myself:
To All the Fearless Cat Ladies Nationwide,
First and foremost, you ate! Choosing a lifestyle that allows you to be as cozy and well rested as can be is truly a flex. You’ve chosen to embrace a life filled with independence, self-love, and, of course, the delightful company of your fellow cat(s). Whether you’re sipping wine in your overpriced yet chic apartment, breaking hearts or melting them, traveling the world, or conquering your career, you’re doing it all on your own terms—and we LOVE to see it.
You are the Queen of your own kingdoms, the mistresses of your own destinies. You’ve manifested a life that is as unique and cunty as you are, filled with passion, creativity, and the purrs of your furry companions. You’ve defied stereotypes and shattered expectations, proving that a woman’s worth is not measured by her marital status or number of offspring, but by her strength, intelligence, and the love she gives to herself and others—including her beloved cats.
Let’s take a moment to celebrate:
- The late-night cuddles and the early-morning purrs.
- The freedom to make your own choices and the courage to stand by them.
- The boundless compassion you show, not just to your feline friends but to all who cross your path.
- The strength to face the world with confidence, humor, and the endless cat hair on your clothes.
Here’s to the adventures yet to come, the dreams yet to be fulfilled, and the many more cats yet to be adopted. Here’s to being unapologetically you.
Stay cozy, stay fabulous, and keep ruling your cat-filled empires with grace and poise. The world is a better place with you in it.
With all the admiration and catnip,
Jestine Thee Petsitter
